$1 Million Challenge Grant for Infrastructure Needs

We are delighted to announce an anonymous donor has generously pledged to match $1,000,000 in donations in support of Colonial Williamsburg's three most immediate infrastructure needs.

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation preserves and maintains more than 600 original and reconstructed buildings in Virginia's colonial capital, which, along with more than 80 historically accurate gardens scattered throughout the Historic Area, provide the backdrop for an immersive 18th-century experience. Colonial Williamsburg is very much a living and working town, with many operations happening behind-the-scenes. While critical to the Foundation's everyday functions, infrastructure support is easily overlooked and maintenance deferred. Key projects within three infrastructure areas — mechanical, building and landscaping — have been identified that are in need of attention.

These projects are critical to the Foundation's operations, employee and guest experiences, and, ultimately, the pursuit of our educational mission. We welcome contributions of any size toward our goal of raising $1,000,000, which will help ensure that these behind-the-scenes needs are met and Colonial Williamsburg remains an extraordinary place to visit. In order to receive the matching funds, we must meet the goal by December 1, 2018. With your help, we will ensure that Colonial Williamsburg's infrastructure gets the much-needed attention it requires.
