Part of the Hennage Holiday Concert Series, the music of well-loved performers usher in the season’s spirit.
Christmas celebrations in Appalachia closed on January 6th with a “breaking up Christmas” celebration, filled with music and dancing. With a variety of early and modern banjos and fiddles, Barry Trott and Brian Forsman bring this tradition back to life. These dance tunes and songs create a musical portrait of Virginia from the days of English country dances to the rise of country music in the Appalachian hills and hollows.
