We are excited to welcome Zack MacLeod Pinsent, of Brighton, England to be a 2020 Revolutionary in Residence. Pinsent, who has become known globally for dressing daily in early 19th-century fashion will make several appearances at Colonial Williamsburg.

In February, Colonial Williamsburg Apprentice Tailor Mike McCarty took Zack on an exclusive shopping spree at some of our historic trade shops. Visiting the tailor, the millinery shop, the wigmaker, the apothecary, and shoemaker, Zack, who is known for wearing 19th-century regency attire, learned what 18th-century attire to wear to Mr. Jefferson's Palace Garden Party.

A self-taught tailor and social media influencer profiled by the BBC, Pinsent has not worn an article of modern clothing since age 14. He operates Pinsent Tailoring in Brighton, East Sussex, England, crafting bespoke items reflecting fashion of the late 17th through early 20th centuries and shares his skills and passion with enthusiasts, students and new audiences.

Known for his Regency attire, this residency will allow Pinsent to expand into 18th-century fashion, learning from the experts in our historic trade shops.

Pinsent will join us in celebrating the beauty, artistry and secrets of the 18th century at our first ever Colonial Fashion Days Feb. 7-9, setting the stage for his attendance at Mr. Jefferson’s Palace Garden Party on October 2.
