How to setup a new online account
- To setup a new online account, first visit colonialwilliamsburg.org.
- In the upper right-hand corner, you will see a white icon that looks like the head and shoulders of a person. Click this person icon. Then click "Sign In."
- On the "Sign In" page, look for the "DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT? SIGN UP NOW" statement at the very bottom of the page. Click "SIGN UP NOW" underlined in blue.
- On the next screen, you will see "Create an Account" at the top of the page. In the first box labeled "Email Address," provide the email address you would like to use to setup your account.
- Then click the "Send Verification Code" button. We recommend leaving this browser window open while you check your email in the step below.
- You will then need to check the email box for the email address that you entered for the account. You will receive an email from "Microsoft on behalf of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation" and the subject line of the email will be "Colonial Williamsburg Foundation account email verification code." If you do NOT receive this email, please check your junk or spam folders.
- From the "Colonial Williamsburg Foundation account email verification code" email, jot down your verification code. This will be a six-digit number.
- Return to your open colonialwilliamsburg.org "Create an Account" screen and enter the six-digit verification code from your email in the "Verification code" box. Then click the button that says "Verify Code."
- You will then be prompted to create a password for your account. You can also enter your First and Last name.
- Then click the button that says "Create."
- Immediately after clicking the "Create" button, you will be redirected to the homepage of colonialwilliamsburg.org. You are now logged into your online account.
- If you click on the person icon in the upper right-hand corner after creating your account and being logged in, you will see options for "My Account" and "Sign Out."
- When clicking on "My Account," you will be directed to your Account Settings page where you can enter your address information, add a payment method and review any purchases that have been made that are associated with your email address. Please note: You CANNOT change the email address associated with your account. You may, however, create a new account with your new email address.
How to reset your colonialwilliamsburg.org password
- In the upper right-hand corner, you will see a white icon that looks like the head and shoulders of a person. Click this person icon. Then click "Sign In."
- On the "Sign In" page, click the "Forgot your password?" link which will appear in blue to the right, just below the area where the "Email Address" is entered to login.
- The "Reset Password" page will open. In the "Email Address" box, enter the email address associated with your colonialwilliamsburg.org online account.
- Then click the "Send Verification Code" button. We recommend leaving this browser window open while you check your email in the step below.
- You will then need to check the email box for the email address that you entered for the account. You will receive an email from "Microsoft on behalf of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation" and the subject line of the email will be "Colonial Williamsburg Foundation account email verification code." If you do NOT receive this email, please check your junk or spam folders.
- From the "Colonial Williamsburg Foundation account email verification code" email, jot down your verification code. This will be a six-digit number.
- Return to your open colonialwilliamsburg.org "Reset Password" browser window and enter the six-digit verification code from your email in the "Verification code" box. Then click the "Verify Code" button.
- After clicking "Verify Code," you will see a message that says "E-mail address verified. You can now continue."
- Click "Continue."
- You will be prompted to create AND confirm a new password for your account. After entering your new password and confirming, click "Continue."
- You will then be taken back to the account "Sign In" screen, where you will need to enter your email address and the new password that you have just created.
- Click "Sign In."
Frequently Asked Account Questions (FAQs)
I cannot reset my password.
Please ensure that you have provided the email address associated with your account. Please follow instructions above for resetting your password. Note that the "Verification Code" sent via email expires quickly. If you receive an error message that the "Verification code has expired" click "Send New Code."
The system is not recognizing my username or password.
Please make sure that you have entered the email address associated with your colonialwilliamsburg.org online account. If so, and your password is not being recognized, please reset your password by clicking "Forgot your password?" You will be prompted to enter your email address as well as a verification code. The code will be emailed to you from "Microsoft on behalf of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation" and the subject line will be "Colonial Williamsburg Foundation account email verification code." If you do not receive this email, please check your spam or junk folders. If you cannot find the email, you may need to setup an account with your current email address, as it may not be the address we have for you in our records.
How do I change my email address?
Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to change the email address associated with your online account. You can create a new account with your new email address.
If I change my email address by creating a new account, will I lose my purchase history?
Yes, if you change your email address by creating a new account, you will lose your purchase history.
