Orlando Jones may not be as widely known as his granddaughter, Martha, or his father, Reverend Rowland Jones, the first rector of Bruton Parish Church, but his place in history is significant. A scholar and leader, Orlando was a representative for King William County in the House of Burgesses and an influential figure in the colonial era. His daughter, Frances, married John Dandridge, making Orlando the grandfather of Martha Washington, a pivotal figure in American history.
Reconstructed in the 1940s, the Orlando Jones House, including the main house, detached office, and kitchen, retains the character and charm of the 18th century, offering you a truly immersive experience.
