The Orrell House & Kitchen are known for a practical design, including the unusually steep lower slope of the gambrel roof, which allowed for more headroom and floor space on the second floor. While little is known about the structure prior to 1800, its thoughtful construction makes it a perfect place to experience the architectural style of the era.
